Rep-unit

Les Rep-units sont les nombres qui, en base 10, ne s'écrivent qu'avec des $1$ : 1, 11, 111, 1111. Ces nombres sont des sources de nombreux problèmes en mathématiques. Si on note $R_n$ le Rep-unit comportant $n$ chiffres, alors les propriétés suivantes sont connues :

  • $R_n$ ne peut être premier que si $n$ est premier. Mais la réciproque est fausse, par exemple, $R_3=111$ n'est pas premier. Et à vrai dire, on ne connait pour le moment qu'un nombre fini de Rep-units qui sont premiers.
  • $R_n$ est divisible par 7 si et seulement si $n$ est un multiple de 6.
  • Un Rep-unit distinct de 1 n'est jamais un carré.
