Variable aléatoire équirépartie

On dit que deux variables aléatoires sont équiréparties si elles ont même loi de probabilité.

Il ne faut pas confondre équirépartition et égalité de deux variables aléatoires. Par exemple, si on lance deux pièces de monnaie, et si on note $X$ le nombre de piles obtenus, et $Y$ le nombre de faces. Alors :

  • $X$ et $Y$ sont équiréparties : $$P(X=0)=P(Y=0)=1/4$$ $$ P(X=1)=P(Y=1)=1/2$$ $$ P(X=2)=P(Y=2)=1/4.$$
  • $X$ et $Y$ ne sont pas égales : par exemple, $X(\textrm{{pile,pile}})=2,$ alors que $Y(\textrm{{pile,pile}})=0.$
